Re: Condensed Font issue (Clarion 9.0.0.10376, Windows 8.1)

Hi Stu! You do have to use the correct name that Windows uses, or it won't be recognized. You can find out if the font is included by opening the PDF in the Viewer, pressing Ctrl+D and checking the Font tab. Note that Windows may have multiple versions of a font, like "My Font," "My Font Bold," "My ...

Re: Condensed Font issue (Clarion 9.0.0.10376, Windows 8.1)

Hi Stu! According to our Project Manager, that HelveticaNeue-Condensed font is the problem. It's not a standard Windows font, and it's not a free font either. When it comes to building PDF's containing it, the "font metrics" are set to the dimensions of HelveticaNeue-Condensed glyphs. Because the fo...

Hi Stu!

Just received your email, thanks very much. I tried using our PDF-Viewer's New Document from Image File function and it produces the same problem, so this is systemic somewhere in the our rendering software.

I'll pass it along for further review.

Hi Andy!

I am very sorry for the long delay. I got very sick and this fell through the cracks.

I am pleased to report that the changes in these files will be in the next set of installs which I pan to have up by early next week (Monday, or Tuesday latest).

There is no way to fill in forms using the current version of PDF-Tools.

There are methods in the PDF-Viewer ActiveX that can do this.

Re: Condensed Font issue (Clarion 9.0.0.10376, Windows 8.1)

Hi Stu! One other thought on this: how are you setting your page size for the final PDF pages? Are you using a run-time size with margins? Or image size with no margins? I'm asking because if something alters the PDF page size in certain ways, the image must be reduced in scale, and that can lead to...

Hi Tony!

When PDFXCview.exe is installed in a folder, and then registered (see PDFV_AX.pdf, Part I, topic 2 ActiveX Control Installation for how that works) then the folder where PDFXCview.exe resides must contain the \ocrdats folder and its language files.

Re: Exception on C6.3 app inside C8

Hi Tony!

You need to precede it with "PDFView:rtn = PDFView."

This is based on what you sent me in scanmgr002.clw.

Also your two options are:

Code: Select all

PDFView:rtn = PDFView.ExecuteCommandID(36462)

Code: Select all

PDFView:rtn = PDFView.ExecuteCommandID(36462, 0)

Re: Exception on C6.3 app inside C8

Hi Tony!

We don't have full support for scanning from the Viewer ActiveX, but you can use this command to trigger the scanner:

Code: Select all

ExecuteCommandID(36462[, 0])
If you specify the second parameter ([, 0]) then you should see the scanner dialog; omit it for NO dialog.

Hi Tony!

Looks like you have the really old version of the Viewer templates.

Look for PDF-XChange ActiveX Viewer v2.0 Global Extension which is the one you want to use.

Incidentally, we now recommend that you populate an OLE control and use that instead of a REGION.
