Messagebox in a silent setup

Hello, when you have an older version of the software (for instance 4.0.160) installed and you want to install a newer version (for instance 4.0.203), even when you use the "silent" flag for the setup, it asks, if it is ok to remove the earlier version. How can we suppress this question in the silen...

Support for PDF/A-3

Does PDF-XChange support the new standard PDF/A-3, and if not, will it support this standard, and if yes, when will it support this standard?

Attachments in PDF file

Is it possible with PDF-XChange to add another file as attachment to the created pdf file (for instance a XML file), and is it possible to extract an attached file from a pdf file again?

Support for Windows 8

Hello Support,

on your web sites you state "PDF-XChange Drivers API SDK 4.0 is compatible with all Windows Versions from Windows XP and later.". Does this include Windows 8 as well or was this statemant made before Windows 8 was released?

Thank you.

Re: PDFPrinter.RestoreDefaultPrinter doesn't work

Sorry for the delay. After the last answer we didn't check for newer ones.

Yes, the printer in question was a network printer. So we download the newest version and check for this problem again.

Re: PDFPrinter.RestoreDefaultPrinter doesn't work

Hi Tracker-Support, here is a little sample application showing and describing our problem. It is a Microsoft Access project (.adp) using the old Access format (Access 2003), but it is developed in Access 2010. As far as we know the problem occurs regardless of the operating system. But we explicitl...

Re: PDFPrinter.RestoreDefaultPrinter doesn't work

We tested a little bit further. When we use "RestoreDefaultPrinter" with the older build 160, it is working. When we use it with the newest build 187 it is not working.

PDFPrinter.RestoreDefaultPrinter doesn't work

Dear Support, in your code example "VbExCOM" (build 187) we commented out the line: PDFPrinter.SetAsDefaultPrinter Nevertheless, after executing the line Set PDFPrinter = PDFPFactory.Printer("", "PDF-XChange 4.0 Sample", "<YOUR REG CODE>", "<YOUR DEV CODE>") PDF-XChange is the default printer on tha...

Re: Printer Instance survives...

Hello, my developer told me, that he already uses the function "RemoveOrphanPrinters". Unfortunately we are in the middle of something else, so he can't cope with this issue right now. So, please close this ticket for now. I will get back to you as soon as we take a closer look at this problem again...

Re: Printer Instance survives...

Hi Tracker Support,

we tested it with the current version (Build 184) and there's no change in behaviour, so this problem still exists.

Sincerely

Printer Instance survives...

Hello Tracker support, we currently use PDF-XChange v4.0.160 to create PDF-files with our software. We found a problem when using PDF-XChange on a terminal server. When our software is started in a terminal server session, PDF-XChange creates an instance of the printer driver for each user that conn...

That didn't help at all...

After this fast answer we downloaded the newest version of the driver (Build 0099) and tried to get our application to work with it, but it didn't help, the same error message occured. Then we registered the mentioned DLL manually, but that didn't help either. After that we tried to use the 32bit ve...

PDF-XChange is not working on a 64bit system

Hi, in our application we create pdf-files from Access reports and send them with e-mail. The Active-X component is initialised in the VBA code without using a form. On a 32 bit system everything runs fine (PDF-XChange Driver Version 3.40 Build 0075) Now we tried to test our application on a 64 bit ...
