Re: Understanding page resize
Yes, it is possible within the print to pdf menus from WordPerfect. For a few files that works, thanks for reminding me. But, that puts me back to square one! The book has 29 chapters +Prelims + References, and each chapter is a separate file. Once created (over months) I then merged them into one p...

Re: Understanding page resize
Dommage! What a pity especially as there is very little competition on this point! When I looked, there was something complicated using Ghostscript, and lots of free cropping programs, but I could find very little that would resize. Then I found this online site which handles files up to 5Mb -- plen...

Re: Understanding page resize
The original format in WordPerfect is A4 with 5 cm margins all round. I cannot produce two original versions, with two different margins and font sizes. It is one original, then the second version is to be cropped, then expanded to fit the A4 thus giving less margins and larger font. Yes, I hope the...

Understanding page resize
My publisher requires me to prepare the original as A4 text with a 5cm all round margin. For the internet edition I need to do two things. 1. Reduce the margin to 2cm all round. This I can now do with cropping, but that leaves me with a page size of 150 x 237 mm. 2. Increase the whole page size back...

Re: Cropping problems
As reported in detail in the Tools section, when I installed the very latest tools, the cropping problem I reported above disappeared. The cropping problem within Tools has been reproduced and assigned a ticket.
Thanks

Cropping problems
Crop does not work for me in latest version. In previous versions this has worked well. I have many times cropped the margins of scanned pdf files etc, then clicked on "Remove while space" and wait a bit for a long file, then resave maybe under a different name. Today this failed. I am upl...

Re: Feature requests
You are right that you can now default save-as to previous location. At first I did not find it, then realised you had issued another version yesterday with the setting included! I had checked the upgrade changes logs and not seen it so not bothered to upgrade. Then I got tangled up in the new licen...

Re: Easiest way: bookmarks to TOC?
Sometimes, minor waiting is a help -- it forces me to find a workaround, and sometimes the workaround is better, or is at least something I needed to do anyway.
I really appreciate the helpfulness and courtesy of this forum. Very encouraging to anyone.

Re: Easiest way: bookmarks to TOC?
Thanks. I think I can wait that long!
Meantime, I think I will just do a separate chapter list with a brief description of each chapter.

Easiest way: bookmarks to TOC?
I have carefully bookmarked a 500 page pdf document. Note, the original document was in WordPerfect, and each chapter was a separate file and when finalised was turned into pdf, then using a pdfxchange tool I joined the files. Now, what is the easiest way to insert a Table of Contents which is also ...

Feature requests
I really like the new pdf editor. Several old problems have been fixed. Unlike many programs I could name where the next version is a backwards step, this version was definitely a step forwards. I have delayed commenting until I had extensive experience. 1. The + and - buttons are in the right place...

Good news! Thanks. Waiting a few weeks is no problem now that I know you are working on it.

Re: Change default folders
Please do change it. The default behaviour is fine for when I load an existing file on the HD, but when I load a temporary download file and go to save as! Ugh! User/appdata/local/opera/opera/temporary_downloads Wow! Mess that up and I will never find it again from the file manager. Most of my other...
