Re: [ISSUE] wrong or even forbidden characters in filenames when using the macro %[DocName].
As a workaround for now, please uncheck the option "Strip Path from Document Name". Hi Ivan, thanks for the info. I removed my changes from the titrules.js, unchecked the option "Strip Path from Document Name" and repeated all tests. All filenames are now as intended. At certain...

Re: [ISSUE] wrong or even forbidden characters in filenames when using the macro %[DocName].
can you confirm that these tests were performed using the current build? 8.0.341.0 is current. Looking forward to hearing if this is an issue in 8.0.341.0. grafik.png Hi Paul, All I wrote is related to build 341 from Aug 12 2020. And it was installed on a fresh and clean Windows 10 x64 (v.2004) wit...

Re: [ISSUE] wrong or even forbidden characters in filenames when using the macro %[DocName].
Without knowing what exactly I'm doing, I made the following. For the moment it seems to be working. Far from "perfect" but at least I don't get error messages when the driver tries to save the file. Nevertheless, there are still unwanted characters in the file name, but they are generally...

[ISSUE] wrong or even forbidden characters in filenames when using the macro %[DocName].
The default macro for filenames in the printer driver is %[DocName] . So when I print a file named Document1.docx from Word, the PDF name should be Document1.pdf . If I print the same file 3 times, the generated names should be Document1.pdf , Document1-001.pdf and Document1-002.pdf . I have just pr...

Re: PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names
We have reopened the ticket and our devs will check this once again. I've figured out, that the truncation only seems to happen, if the last part of the file name has a length of 3 chars Some.Testing.1.txt >> Some.Testing.1.pdf ... OK Some.Testing.12.txt >> Some.Testing.12.pdf ... OK Some.Testing.1...

Re: PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names

Re: PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names
hey Will, thanks for the screen shot, but... Thanks for the post - this was changed so that the .pdf, in the File Name Macro field, was no longer necessary. At this time you have to choose between two issues. Both of them are highly annoying and in both cases the printer driver is not able to genera...

Re: PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names
hello Stefan, Is the double extension just in the preview the driver shows in the settings screen, or is the actual file with a double .pdf.pdf at the end? The actual file has a double extension. Regardless of which program you use to print something. Word, Firefox, UltraEdit ... even Tackers Viewer...

Re: PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names
You seem to be using a slightly older build. Please update Thanks for your help. Has been done. Now I'm a proud user of build 314 8) and see if that resolves the issue. nope, sorry... Using %[DocName] results in Filename.1.2.3.ext -> Filename.1.2.pdf ( 3. is missing) Using %[DocName] .pdf results i...

Re: PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names
Please when specifying the file name make sure the format is "%[DocName].pdf" and the last portion of your original document's name won't be removed. ...here we go again. I'm using PDF-XChange Printer 2012 Version 5.5 Build 313.1 Using the Macro %[DocName].pdf now leads to double extensio...

Re: PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names
You've posted in our PDF Tools forums, but the question is for the printing drivers. sorry for that Please when specifying the file name make sure the format is "%[DocName].pdf" and the last portion of your original document's name won't be removed. It was %[DocName] (afaik) by default an...

PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates file names
I use file names like 'Some Text here (15.10.2010) 2013.10 .02 .docx' PDF-XChange Printer 2012 truncates all characters between the second last and the last dot of the file name. As the result I get file names like 'Some Text here (15.10.2010) 2013.10.pdf' (" .02 " is missing). Another exa...

Re: [Issue] Scanner implementation
I did some more testing... I have told, that scanning documents with multiple pages is ending up in a never ending loop. This is only true for flatbed and nothing to object to. 'Scanner.Preset.Figure2.zip' works as intended. BUT (anyway) after the last page the Editor will end up in endless attempts...

Re: [Issue] Scanner implementation
I have told, that the editor doesn't detect, if the document feeder is empty. After some testing I have found, that the profile 'Scanner.Preset.Figure1.zip' causes "Error [PXVLib]: No pages scanned" , if the feeder is empty. Even if more detailed error message would be helpful, it's logica...

Re: [Issue] Scanner implementation
hey Ivan. Thank's for your answer a) right :) But to have this option to be easily operated it would be great to save an existing , changed profile without typing things like "Duplex Feeder Grayscale 300 DPI". Just to click 'save' would make me happy ;) b) Brother MFC-8380 DN and I use WIA...

[Issue] Scanner implementation
Hey @all a) There is no simple way to just 'update' a scanner profile a.t.m. You always have to enter the full profile-name to save the changes. b) The software doesn't detect, if the document feeder is empty. Scanning documents with multiple pages ends up in a never ending loop (if I don't want to ...
