PS Just noticed that the full demo is in a directory which requires elevated privilege's which my copy of VS was not running under. The issue is resolved once I moved the Full demo to a "safe" dir Not with standing have could you please confirm that I have followed the correct steps on how...

As mentioned , there seems to be an issue with v8 when we attempt to save any PDF's, this issue doesn't exist in V7 or prior.
So the simple answer is NO we carnt move to v8, much as we would like to

Thanks...complicated but doable. we have such an api...not sure it worth the effort at this point :) as we are still not able to create a stamp appearance on the fly eg We need to be able to apply stamps which remain interactive..they can be repositioned... which may have the current date and time p...

Hmm...seems there is a way...I would need to parse the stamp pdf file stored under the users app setting ...the data is prefixed with a /Name tag
there are some hairs on this approach but it might work.
