Re: Excess spaces in between characters; Stylus and context

1) Yes, exactly as you say. So, please copy a page of one of my three PDF files and paste it into Word. You’ll see instantaneously what the problem is. You may also compare the results doing this same copying procedure with either the Editor or the Viewer or, for that matter, with any other PDF soft...

Re: Excess spaces in between characters; Stylus and context

1) I do use Version 5.5, Build 315.0, from September 9 2015. 2) The three documents I uploaded are two-layered. The problems are with the text layer , which is under the image layer. Thus, you will have to grab the text by copying it or by exporting some highlighted parts. What matters to me, in thi...

Excess spaces in between characters; Stylus and context menu

To my mind, the Editor is quite good. Though there are still some things that bother me, and I very much hope they can be fixed before long. 1) The rendering of the text layer: spaces before and after characters The Editor adds a great number of blank spaces not only between words, but also within w...

Re: Stylus and context menu in PDF-XChange Editor

1) As for the issue with the stylus: thanks for the support! 2) Just a quick follow-up to the question I asked about PDF-XChange Editor updates with “Fiddler” installed. Evidently, for that to work you need to configure proxy settings. As I couldn’t find any in the main program, I eventually opened ...

Re: Stylus and context menu in PDF-XChange Editor

May I enquire once more on the subject of this thread: the problem with using a stylus to trigger the context menu within the Editor? Have you made any progress on this since my initial posting? Or more to the point, could you identify the problem? 1) Is it just the particular configuration on my pe...

Re: Stylus and context menu in PDF-XChange Editor

Thanks for the reply and your apologies (that were really not necessary). On another issue that really has nothing to do with the subject of this thread, but is not that important either as to warrant a new thread. The thing is that I cannot update PDF XChange Viewer with “Fiddler” running in the ba...

Re: Stylus and context menu in PDF-XChange Editor

Thanks for the quick reply. However, I have to say that I am a bit offended by its content, and especially by the link to the dummy site. I can confirm that the Editor is the only software causing problems of the kind described in my earlier post. No problems in Office 2013, no problems in Windows E...

Stylus and context menu in PDF-XChange Editor

A few days back I tested the new version 5.5 of the PDF-XChange Editor on my Lenovo Helix tablet, and I was at first pleasantly surprised. 1) I loved the new comprehensive context menu with functions like “Add Bookmark” and, most important of all, “Add Sticky Note”. 2) However, I was rather disappoi...

Re: The Editor is great - what I still miss. For tablet user

Yes, scrolling and zooming just works fine. It is smooth, and there is really no problem when I use my tablet. However, imagine the following settings: you read a Pdf document on a tablet with the Editor, underline (or highlight it) continuously, and you scroll by using your two fingers. Then, switc...

Re: The Editor is great - what I still miss. For tablet user

I just remembered something I had wished for a long time the Viewer (or now the Editor) would include. Another wish that the Tracker wish fairy might perhaps fulfill … sometime in the future. It is again about summarizing comments. I would like to have an excerpt that follows a PDF page by page and ...

I do use Build 307.1

However, I summarize my annotations not in PDF, but in RTF.

Re: The Editor is great - what I still miss. For tablet user

I have just come across something that gives me some major headache and made me revert (for this particular task) to the Viewer. It is about the one function I love about your software: the summarizing of comments. Whereas the Viewer diligently and reliably sticks to the OCRed text, the Editor trunc...

Re: The Editor is great - what I still miss. For tablet user

1) Thanks. 1b) No scrolling is possible even when using the last version of the editor. Take a look at the attached PDF “Open dialog”. But I don´t click the scroll-bar, I try to scroll the list of my files using my finger (or fingers). The scroll bar certainly works. For tablet users, however, it´s ...

Re: The Editor is great - what I still miss. For tablet user

About my experience with the PDF-XChange Editor 3.0.307 over the last two, three weeks using a Windows 8 Tablet. 1) The scrolling of search results and annotations with a two-finger-scroll It tends to stop working at times, and I cannot figure out why. It seems to be caused by resizing the search or...

Re: The Editor is great - but I still miss some features. A

I added a three part PDF:

1) Editor toolbar without dropdown menus

2) Viewer toolbar with the dropdown menu bar

3) Viewer toolbar with two further dropdown menus

Greetings.

Re: The Editor is great - but I still miss some features. A

Hi Will, This certainly helps, thank you very much! As for point 3. If I assemble all the commands that I commonly use as various icons in one big toolbar at the very top of the Editor’s UI , I can see just one icon with an arrow pointing down: it is the open dialogue. When I click there, a dropdown...

The Editor is great - what I still miss. For tablet users

Thanks a lot for the new update! This is a huge step. In its present form, I now really like the editor, and eventually I decided to switch. However, you are not at the end of the street yet. Some things still need to be done. Here is a list of features that I would like to be implemented or that I ...

Re: Touch scroll support for bookmark list

Thanks, Vasyl, for this gentle push towards the new Editor! Indeed, I tried it some time ago, and initially, I was impressed with the new touch features, especially the two-fingers-scroll. Nicely down. Yet, I finally decided to uninstall the Editor and to revert to my trusted Viewer. The reason was ...

Re: Touch scroll support for bookmark list

It seems as if everything has been said in this matter. Touch functionality for the XChange reader is repeatedly asked for. And the promise is made for not so distant future. And yet I would like to add two more things to the wish list, as I also have a Windows 8 tablet with a digitizer pen: 1) I us...
