How strange.
Anyway, thanks for the reply, Stefan. Setting the language to Ukrainian (why Ukrainian? ) did the trick. Other documents with this font also work now. Thanks again!

Re: Incorrect rendering of some Chinese characters
Still no luck with 308. I tried doing a clean install and it still doesn't work. I have to say that I don't understand why this is taking so long. When I reported this issue to the developers of SumatraPDF in January, they managed to release a fix the next day.

Re: Incorrect rendering of some Chinese characters
I'd just like to say that this issue is still present in Build 307.2 I didn't want to press the issue immediately after the release but I would appreciate it if you could include the fix in the next release.

Re: Incorrect rendering of some Chinese characters
Your developers still need to add the above font to the list of fonts that require hinting. That should take only a line or two of code. As for myself, I've managed to find an interim solution by converting the PDF to image and then doing the OCR, but you should still do it for the sake of other use...

Re: Incorrect rendering of some Chinese characters
Well, I've finally managed to track down the problem. Apparently, some CJK fonts need to use TTF hinting to render properly. FreeType has a list of such fonts called "trick_names", but it is incomplete. The font that is causing the issue with my documents is called "¼Ð·¢Åé" by PD...

Re: Incorrect rendering of some Chinese characters
Well, it's been more than two months. The new version of Editor is excellent and has some features I was waiting for, but this issue is still present.
Has there been any progress so far? I was also thinking of contacting the authors of FreeType project directly.

Re: Last view incorrectly saved after closing a document
To be honest it was very hard for me too to reproduce this issue. First I thought it was a kind of bug that corrupts history.dat but removing the file didn't help, then I thought it might be due to file name or file location, but renaming and moving the document didn't help either. This issue affect...

Last view incorrectly saved after closing a document
After some experimenting I've noticed that many documents that worked flawlessly in build 304 (not sure about 305) have an interesting glitch in build 306. The last view will not be saved properly in certain zoom conditions. When made to fit width in continuous mode the view will be moved down, some...

Incorrect rendering of some Chinese characters
Some Chinese text is not rendered properly. This is especially noticeable on the last page of this document: http://edu.ocac.gov.tw/interact/ebook/digitalPublish2/do/1009204169b-H-reader-04-01.pdf http://s20.postimg.org/6yadr9x71/Chinese_Sentences_1.jpg http://s20.postimg.org/udsawmgy5/Chinese_Sente...

Re: Any plans for allowing the Editor to run multiple instan
I see. Well, that is certainly a useful approach for editing and it would allow most uses of multiple instances feature. Except that in the Viewer I can have two separate history lists for the same PDF files and view them simultaneously when I run it as a different user (Shift+Right Click on the ico...

Any plans for allowing the Editor to run multiple instances?
I found this feature in the Viewer very useful for two reasons. First is of course that I can have two different views of the same document (Split has this function but only gives two very small windows). The other is that I can save two different last views if I run the Viewer as a different user. ...

Problem with the Recent documents list
This problem is a little difficult to explain, but here it goes: After using the Editor for some time the recent documents list no longer works properly. I've noticed that if I open a PDF file by double clicking it in the Windows Explorer it is not saved in the Recent documents list and this (possib...

Some comments on Editor 302
First of all, I wish to thank the Tracker team for all the hard work they continually put into their products. I'm glad to see some rendering bugs fixed in the newest release. However, there still seem to be a few rendering bugs left. A few months ago I reported a problem with a Chinese textbook: ht...

Some characters don't render properly
Greetings to the Tracker-Software team. It's good to see the development is progressing. However I have one problem - Here's an extract from a PDF file written in French. The accented characters are not displayed properly in the newest version of the Editor (301) but work very well in the Viewer. I ...

Re: A few features I miss and a bug maybe?
Not sure if this one was mentioned before... In Viewer, I can go to the previous view. This is very useful if I, for example, accidentally press End instead of Page Down button on the keyboard while in a scanned document. I can't find this option in Editor, which means I have to search manually wher...

Hello, Stefan.
I've noticed the different Recent documents lists, but I didn't know about Spit. These are useful features, although I guess it'll take some time to get used to them. Thanks for the reply.

A few questions about the new version of Editor
I've downloaded the new version of Editor and I see that many previously missing features have been enabled, so the program on the whole works very well. Congratulations to the Tracker team! However I have some issues. Now, I have skimmed the forum and I don't think these were mentioned but I might ...

Greetings to the Tracker team. The development seems to be going well. However, I still have a problem with a chinese textbook that I reported before: https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=16485#p67115 The textbook can be found here: http://edu.ocac.gov.tw/interact/ebook/digitalPubl...

Re: PDF-XChange Editor Version 3.0 Second Beta coming soon?
Well, I guess you know best. But the last beta had a few bugs and many features missing so I can't tell if there are more bugs in them. I think it might be a better idea to release another beta to make sure you stamp out any embarrassing bugs before a final release. In any case, I'm looking forward ...

Re: PDF-XChange Editor Rendering Issues
First of all, I want to say that I'm very satisfied with the new text rendering. It's much smoother than before. Also, I have the same problem. This document is a good example. It's in cyrillic but that shouldn't matter: http://rapidshare.com/files/1547568201/Pravopis%201994.zip I have a somewhat si...
