Re: Command to open a PDF in a new instance of PDF-XChange
The biggest use case for me would be with sessions. There are two methods for managing sessions: 1) Restore session with fully restored layout, or 2) Add tabs to the current or a new window without keeping layout settings. Option 2 does not work for me, since I use tab groups and I want to preserve ...

Re: Command to open a PDF in a new instance of PDF-XChange
If you have seen such a feature in another product, can you which one is it? Many programs use the Ctrl-N shortcut to open up a new program window, including tab centric programs like Firefox, Chrome, Konqueror, and SumatraPDF. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC has a New Window command but does duplicate the...

Re: Command to open a PDF in a new instance of PDF-XChange
Maybe the wrong terminology is being used. Maybe the correct developer term is "frame." If you can drag a tab off the window/frame and another document container opens up then the design does obviously allow for a separate document container, whether the user calls it an instance or a wind...

First, the Classic Toolbars must be enabled. In your picture, you are using the Ribbon UI. File, Sessions must be the first thing that you do after opening the application. If you add a custom button to the toolbar for sessions and click on that, it will usually crash also, if you click on it before...

WINE crash when opening sessions menu
This crash is a regression that began with version 10 when running under WINE in Linux. I reverted back to version 9.5.368 and could not get it to happen. It also only seems to happen when using Classic Toolbars. The problem is intermittent but occurs probably 30-50% of the time. Immediately after o...
