Google Chrome

I have version 6 installed OK. I am using Chrome but when I click on a link in a website for a PDF it opens some proprietory app and will not open with PDF-X. I have gone into settings in Win 10 and set the default for PDF to PDF-X and I also have searched to see if there are other links in Chrome b...

Re: link fails in IE but works in Chrome-Firefox and Safari

No sorry - my last email was just to clarify where the link was in the PDF that opens at page 1 of 38. It does not work in IE but works in other browsers?

OOps! should have noted that link is on last page of the PDF that opens. Sorry.

link fails in IE but works in Chrome-Firefox and Safari

I have put a link on a PDF page. Of course to test it - my default reader - tracker - opens in Chrome and the link works. It works in Safari and Firefox too but in Internet Explorer it just 'beeps' and flashes but does not go to the page. http://quintessentialwriters.com/book%20pages/cadillac%20page...

Re: get chinese pages in conversion

Thanks for all this but I have now gone to Epson for their thoughts or whatever. If and when I get something that is worth reporting I will post it here but for the moment forget about this dumb thing.

Re: get chinese pages in conversion

What I did was scan as PDF using the Epson scan program. It produced the .pdf. I then used the convert to .doc tool not the OCR tool. Now I have saved the Epson produced pdf with Tracker to produce a new pdf. I OCR it using Tracker and it is a good PDF that is OCR'ed. So I tried to convert that to a...

get chinese pages in conversion

Here is a weird one and it may not be a Tracker issue at all but thought I would ask if anyone had seen such a thing before and if there is a solution or should some software be changed. I scanned a 33 page document with an Epson WF-3640 and it produced a 15 meg PDF. I then used PDF-Tools 4 (latest ...

Re: Scanner not found

Thanks for getting back to me. I experimented for some hours yesterday and finally took all the supplied printer/scanner software right out. I uninstalled the printer. Then I plugged it in again and after Microsoft did its thing with some drivers or something I went digging in the Devices and Printe...

Re: Saving file issue

That might have been it as I had to reload IE a few days ago and maybe it defaulted(sic) I am happy to use Editor as the default pdf reader and so on BUT someone should tell users. When installing it installs the Viewer and the natural inclination is to use it - the name says so. Anyway I am OK now ...

Re: Saving file issue

Tried from the Editor and worked fine. Also from Google Chrome and Firefox but in those no toolbar - but right clicked to Save As. Tried IE again and no go. I am using Win 7 - 64 bit - IE10.0.9200 All updates on all included service packs, etc. BUT - as an experiment I went into my start menu and se...

Saving file issue

I have a new problem and maybe it is just me but... Several files I have downloaded from the web lately will not save at all EXCEPT they are saved in the temp place. I go to Save as and I get a message that I do not have permission to Save where I asked but it offers to save it in the local disk fol...

Re: Page default

Looks like that is working but won't know for sure until I have worked for awhile. Still think for new users and clutzes there should be a simple default in the program - maybe add to the wish list.
Thanks

Re: Page default

I am sorry to report that I have now unchecked the Scale content. I then tried a Word file and set it to Letter. Closed Word and opened the file again and it held at letter. Re-started computer and opened Word file and went to print with PDF and it was set to A4 so had to change. Checked and Scale c...

Page default

I searched and this seems to be an old problem that is not resolved. If I do a PDF from Word 2010 it defaults to A4. I change the Page size to Letter and it holds that as long as I do more PDFs in Word without closing the present session. The very next time I go back into Word and then go to do a PD...
