Re: Thumbnail improvements
Thanks for looking at this. What happens is *not* that the side-panel or thumbnail size isn't restored. What happens is that upon restart Editor remembers that it doesn't like to display partially visible thumbnail squares (including free space to the right). If the thumbnail pane is not wide enough...

Re: Thumbnail improvements
It would already help if Editor didn't insist on not displaying the 2nd row until all of the square fits in. One workaround is to first resize the thumbnail window until the 2nd row is displayed and then resize it back a bit. Editor will still show both rows then. But unfortunately that only works u...

I am not convinced that allowing a double-click (or modifier+click) on a thumbnail search result would add to the complexity of the search results pane. It surely would beat this in convenience:

Re: preload , prrender, precache full pdf setting?
A full document pre-rendering - or rather background rendering after opening - would have its uses for sure. Like faster initial searches. Personally I am still a big friend of having a prerender cache file on disk/SSD, similar to GPU shader caches of games. Some PDF files *never* change, so renderi...

Also no other improvements to searching large PDF files more conveniently. My maintenance plan ends in 3 days and I will not renew it for the time being.

The old DiffPDF software allows to exclude border (in mm). This allows me to exclude all the headers/footers that are different on every single page of my 642 pages document.
It also allows to compare protected files.

Once Editor created print previews (full size and fit to margin) and printed the document for the first time everything is just as fast as in Acrobat. This even seems to remain true when I close/reopen Editor afterwards. Strange stuff. Will test restarting the PC next and report back.

The print size is nearly the same for both Editor and Acrobat. But Editor is completely overwhelmed already in the print preview part while Acrobat can handle the same document quite easily.
