Changing to ribbon solved the differences. Thanks for that tip.

The key thing I was not able to understand was made clear with the ribbon, where there is a tab that says convert. That made the process work for me.

Daniel, Thanks for that information. I created my own PDF and was able to use the tools to edit, so I am guessing that your suggestion that it was not a PDF that I was trying to edit was correct. Have not used the edit portion for some time and can not figure out how it works. Using build 325. If I click on select text icon in a PDF doc, I get a cross hair.
