Hi Daniel,
thanks. Indeed, as I mentioned in my original post, the functionality is basically already there in the form of "autosave session on exit". Is just the "little bit" of implementing a timed autosave that is missing. I hope this can be taken care of soon.
Cheers
Giacomo

Re: File unavailable: document closed and changes lost!
Hi Daniel,
thanks for the thorough explanation. Now I better understand what such a choice would entail.

Re: Feature request: autosave current session
Hi Daniel, thanks for your answer. I completely understand (and agree) with your point, but I'm afraid I've not been clear in my previous post. I'm not proposing to save the document(s) (i.e. their content, which already is taken care of by the autorecovery information), but jus to save the session,...

Feature request: autosave current session
As far as I understand, the current list of opened widows/documents is always saved a the "last used session" upon exit, and reloaded at startup if the corresponding preference is set. This works great, but it is not solid towards unexpected shutdown of the program (crash), or even program...

Re: File unavailable: document closed and changes lost!
Thanks for the answers, and sorry for my late reply. I forgot to check back... So, you are saying that when a document is opened, it is not completely loaded in memory, but only the very portion I'm working on at any give time? And the program keeps accessing the file all the time to load the needed...

File unavailable: document closed and changes lost!
I just experience a quite bad behavior of the software. I was commenting a long PDF, which is saved in google drive. I had been adding comments for a few hours. Suddenly, the message popped up, with more or less this text: "the file is no longer available on disk and will be closed". The o...

Convert highlight to strike-throught to underline
Example case: I'm reviewing a document, and run into a statement to which I want to suggest a modification. I select the statement with the highlight tool and start filling an associated note explaining why I think the statement is not correct. By the end of the note, I'm convinced that the statemen...

Repeated authorization request form google drive
The google drive plugin asks for authorization every time I try to open a "recent" document (on google drive), while it does only the first time if I use the "open from -> google drive" command. PDF XChange Editor 6.0 build 317.1 To reproduce: - open the editor - try "file -...

Non-blocking mode greyed out?
Hi all, I'm a very satisfied "viewer" user, and I just installed to "editor". While browsing the settings, I found the option "non-blocking mode for source file", that immediately caught my attention as it would be very useful (when you need to generate a pdf over and o...

Re: Error when pasting (ping!)
I share you feeling about the hibernates... I'll try to keep that in mind and see if I can find a relation. Also, if I discover anything new about the issue, I'll let you know.
In the meanwhile, thanks a lot for the prompt support (that adds to the value of the software!).

Re: Error when pasting (ping!)
The only antivirus software I'm running is Microsoft security essentials. I believe (but not 100% sure) I started using it in a more recent period wrt when I started observing the issue, so I doubt it is the cause. On the other hand, it is true that most of the programs I normally use haven't change...

Re: Error when pasting (ping!)
Hi Stefan,
the build is indeed 2.5.199. But, as I said, it also happened with previous ones. Is there anything I can do _when_ it happens to help you debug the problem (like collecting log files or similar)?.
Thanks
Giacomo

Re: Error when pasting (ping!)
Well, the issue appeared on two different laptops and two different operating systems (Windows Vista and 7). The current one is a Dell Latitude E6510 with intel core i&. Not sure what other specifications might be needed... the complete list is pretty long! :-) As for the clipboard manager... no...

Error when pasting (ping!)
Hi all, I've been using PDF-Exchange viewer free for couple of years now, going through several versions. It's an amazing program, but there is a little problem that is bugging me since at least one year (but it might be more). Sometimes, when I try to copy an annotation (actually, for what I do it'...

Restore last session
Hi, first of all, this is a feature request more than an support request... sorry if this is the wrong place for it, but I didn't find a better one. I find the "restore session" option extremely useful. However, the list of opened documents is apparently recorded only on exit. While this w...
