thanks. Indeed, as I mentioned in my original post, the functionality is basically already there in the form of "autosave session on exit". Is just the "little bit" of implementing a timed autosave that is missing. I hope this can be taken care of soon.

The only antivirus software I'm running is Microsoft security essentials. I believe (but not 100% sure) I started using it in a more recent period wrt when I started observing the issue, so I doubt it is the cause.
