Sharing bug

The Windows 7 log keeps logging this error: "The print spooler failed to share printer PDF-XChange 4.0 with shared resource name PDF-XChange 4.0. Error 2114. The printer cannot be used by others on the network." How do I get rid of this error? I don't need to share this printer, if it was ...

Re: Rename open file

Hi PdfSnooper, I think the concerns is more about issues that can arrise when a file has more than one application with a handle on it. A file open in the Viewer can also be open in a preview handle, and email client etc.S Well if you want to invent reasons for failure you can. [/quote] As I said h...

Re: Rename open file

Hi PdfSnooper, I can see what you mean and can even understand why you feel it would be a valuable addition. After discussion with the development team leader again on this topic our position is that this would cause more problems for more users than it would solve for the few that have requested t...

Re: Rename open file

It's funny, because my text editor supports renaming the current file. My If its just one document, sure you could 'save as' but when i get a ton of scanned files it would only add to the hell by having twice the amount of documents. I would like to able to open Scan00100.pdf and see what it is and ...

Please add rename of document

Please add a way to RENAME a document whilst it is open in the Pdf-xchange viewer - it would so help my work flow when i have 50 documents open at once (and it would be nice if you could raise the limit of documents open at once as well)

Re: Can you share the printer?

Hi, No - to ensure licensing integrity PDF-XChange Whatever that crap means. is designed to act only as a standalone printer I wanted to use it as a standalone printer. and must be installed and licensed on each workstation. Don't have any workstations. But the answer was no, get lost. Got it.

Can you share this "printer" via the network, so a machine printing somewhere else on the network will produce a PDF file on the "printer" machine?

Can you add icons to toolbars?

I'm customizing my toolbars.

The command "Crop Pages..." doesn't have an icon, so just the text shows up on the toolbar.

Is it possible for me to add an icon to this command?

Windows 7 explorer not showing filetype?

Hi, I'm seeing a bit of oddity. In Windows 7 I have set PDF files up to be opened with PDF-XChange of course. However when I look in windows explorer, in details view (ie where it shows name, date size) the "Type" column doesn't show "PDF" as i would expect, but it shows the file...

Re: Linking: Relative paths to other documents?

Could you zip up and add an example pdf for us to take a look at? It worries me you ask that. Surely its the Program which doesn't do this, and the actual PDF is not relevant? It could be any PDF - I can do a "New Document/From Blank Page" and the problem persists. Perhaps I should outlin...

Re: Linking: Relative paths to other documents?

Please take a look at this KB on the subject: How do I add links to a document Yes, know this. For how to create the links. The File Path Field should be active and you be allowed to type in it. Re: Linking: Relative paths to other documents?

Yes it's possible, when making the links - create them relative, and they should stay like this. But how do I do that?? I can't write in the "file name" field, but have to use the file browser, and it always inserts the full path to the document. When you hover over a link in our Viewer y...

Re: Copy and past of objects?

Hi PdfSnooper, you can already copy/paste comments with their text style as well as the object style like fill colour, border thickness etc. How? We will be adding in V3 the ability to also copy base text (not a comment but a part of the original PDF document) from a PDF to other applications like ...

Copy and past of objects?

I'd like to be able to copy objects in the browser. Say I make some text, then I'd like to be able to make a copy of that object, ie, the size, the font, the color (and not just the ascii text) or if make an arrow, I'd like to be able to copy and paste it somewhere else, without having to adjust all...
