Re: pxoPageList - how to use

Never mind. I figured out that I needed to add <DllImport(DLLName)> Public Shared Function OCR_NewPagelist(ByRef pagelist As IntPtr) As Integer End Function <DllImport(DLLName)> Public Shared Function OCR_AddPage(ByVal pagelist As IntPtr, ByVal PageNumber As Integer) As Integer End Function to PDFXO...

pxoPageList - how to use

All the examples I've seen set pxoPageList to IntPtr.Zero which processes all pages. I need to examine the OCR results of a PDF one page at a time. I've tried a few ways of setting pxoPageList (such as pxoPagelist = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(Len(intPageNumber.ToString)) and pxoPagelist = Marshal.StringTo...

Determine content alignment so page can be rotated if necessary

We need to detect the alignment of content on a page so we can rotate that page such that the content is correctly oriented. I know about PXCp_PageGetRotate and PXCp_PageSetRotate. Those calls turn the page from landscape to portrait or some variation of that, but they do not change the orientation ...

Thumbnail rendering speed

My users are complaining that the thumbnails are rendering very slowly - almost too slowly to be useful. We're using AxInterop.PDFXCviewAxLib.dll. Is there any way to configure the control to optimize thumbnail loading speed? What is it about a PDF that impacts this?

Re: OCR is autorotating pages 180 degrees

That worked! Turns out including the PDFXOCR_Funcs.OCR_ImageProcessingFlags.OCR_Image_SuppressOutput option is key. Docs are coming out of the converter as expected. I left the PDFXOCR_Funcs.OCR_ImageProcessingFlags.OCR_Image_FastAutorotate option in, and the pages are being deskewed but not over-ro...

Re: OCR is autorotating pages 180 degrees

Is it possible that the OCR operation is creating a new image layer that is rotated while the original layer is not? We've observed that the OCR is actually correct, in that searching for a word finds it in a location that, while incorrect for the visible image layer, would be correct if the image l...

Re: OCR is autorotating pages 180 degrees

Is there a targeted release date? Clearly this is a fundamental issue.

Also - is there a workaround or a configuration change or a switch setting that would stop this? Should I not use Fast Autorotate?

Thanks -

OCR is autorotating pages 180 degrees

We're in the middle of a project that involves creating searchable PDFs out of non-searchable PDFs. We have over 10,000 files to process. We purchased the PDF SDK that includes the OCR module. Most of our output files are just as we expect them to be. We've had to manually rotate the input with the ...

Read a number of pages from a multi page TIF for conversion

I need to process large multi-page TIFs into PDFs. My problem is that the TIFs are so large they exhaust the memory on my workstation. I thought I could solve that with PXC_AddImageExW multiple times to read in smaller parts of the TIF, which I could then output to smaller PDFs. Those smaller PDFs c...

PXC_AddPage does not increment page count

Using VB.Net - Assuming I properly create a new document object with Dim res As Integer = PDFXC_Funcs.PXC_NewDocument(m_doc, DevKey, DevCode) and then add a page with res = PDFXC_Funcs.PXC_AddPage(m_doc, dblWidth, dblHeight, intThisPg) shouldn't m_PagesCount increment? m_doc and intThisPage are both...

Re: XCPro40 - how do I add text to an existing document?

I updated the files and still no luck. I modified the frmWatermark files from the demo in the PDF-Tools 4 SDK\Examples\SDKExamples\VBNetExamples\PXCProDemo folder to include a Page Range option. I get the same error so it should be useful for finding the problem. The modified files are in the attach...

Re: XCPro40 - how do I add text to an existing document?

Having a problem with PlaceType_Range in PXCp_AddWatermark. If I use that setting, and set m_NumRanges to 1 and m_Range to the first element of a 2-element array (aPages(0)) I get an Access Violation error saying I'm trying to access protected memory. Is this functionality supported in VB.Net? If I ...

Re: XCPro40 - how do I add text to an existing document?

I'll see if I can make a watermark work. I haven't found annotations workable because (1) I need the ID number visible at all times, not just when you click the annotation, and (2) annotations can be removed in Adobe Reader X. Do you have an ETA on the new version yet? Any suggestions welcome. Thank...

XCPro40 - how do I add text to an existing document?

Using VB.Net - Is there any way other than with watermarks and annotations to add text to an existing PDF with XCPro40? We get PDFs in from clients, and I need to mark each page with an ID number. Alternatively, can I open an existing PDF with PXCLib40? I can see how I can add the text there. Thanks -

Re: PXC_AddImageExA in VB.Net

I also found that I should not expect to control an XCPro40 object with PDFXC functions. I did have some trouble with PDFXC_Funcs.PXC_ScaleImage (it threw an Invalid Image Format error when I passed in pictArr(n)) but I solved that by setting the width and height in PlaceImage. Delayed Write Failure saving PDFs with PXCp_WriteDocumentW

We have an app that uses PXCp_WriteDocumentW to save PDFs to a network attached storage (NAS) drive. The app is written in VB.Net. The number of pages varies from one error to another (typically 1 to 20 pages, never more than 40), and not all save attempts generate the error. Are there any optimizat...
