excellent. disabling the adobe addon and deleting the mimetypes.rdf has solved the problem, with one remaining detail.: the menus on xchange viewer, in ff, open and then close after half second. i tried rebooting computer, but no different. menus in standalone viewer are ok. any idea how to fix this...

again, for me, pdfxchange, does Not appear in ff addons. this is through several uninstalls, reinstalls, and firefox versions.

my guess is that firefox not showing a pdfxhange viewer in the addons is the main issue.
