For me there is no issue, I am interested if you have seen this yourself and corrected it with the default file association reset because I have never seen the behaviour and cannot seem to reproduce it.

I must be missing what you are doing. When I copy/paste a text field it does retain the filed formatting and even the filled content.

So too when I merge pages with form fields.
