your solution does not help for me (my office). I need the reader (!) to open the attachments pane and not the document, because I do not have any influence, which documents our staff receives from outside.

Please force this missing feature once more ... !

anything new regarding this topic?

It's still "inconvenient" to have to open the attachment sidebar manually ... as mentioned, Adobe does it much better in showing this sidebar automatically, when opening such a "container pdf".

FYI: https://draftable.com/compare does it quite well. The only thing I'm missing there is an export of the result-view. It should be exactly like the presentation of the result (WYSIWYG).

Just another suggestions: If the pdf contains any attachment, the "attachment"-pane should open automatically, if it closed by default. This seems to be a concept, which does not need a lot of changes in the application, doesn't it?

It's a must-have to get a hint, that "there is something" more than the visible PDF-content! When will PDFX get such an "indicator"? A paper-clip like Adobe Reader somewhere to click on it, and - even better - a message box (warning) when opening such a PDF would be useful. Michael

In 99% of my usage, I want very small files and font's do not matter. So I let PDFX remove all fonts and get small files ... great. I did not realize this possibility in the past.

Will,

I extracted the content of the ZIP file to the folder you mentioned. 2 files were replaced. The I set the Editor to handle PDF previews. The error message is the same as before. I did a "reset" to Foxit as described and the preview worked again.

BTW, same problem after updating from Win 8.1 to Win 10 (1511): After running Tracker Updater and doing the update to 6.0.318.1 thumnails and preview did not work. Same error message as in the subject. Thank god, the solution with FoxIt reader still works: Log on as local admin PDFX installed Foxit ...

Will, everything (thumbnails & preview) works fine, when Foxit it set as default app. But whenever I set PDF-XChange-Editor to be the app for opening (only, but also when set as default for everything), I loose preview and thumbnail function. So there is something wrong with PDF-X installation. ...
