Re: Printing Current View into PDF -> Letters are gone
And cropping vs reprinting also reduces the size as you have noticed as the information which is just "hidden" when cropping is actually discarded when reprinting. Then what am I doing wrong? Whenever I have used cropping the actual file size is actually slightly larger than the original....

Re: Printing Current View into PDF -> Letters are gone
Hi Ivan, Understood. I am not complaining, I just wanted to be helpful and thought you are aiming to be better than the competitors … ;-) My assumption is, there is a small bug in the viewer. Immediately after creating the printed PDF it was searchable (text selectable). A few steps later the text w...

Re: Printing Current View into PDF -> Letters are gone
I used your example and sent the current view to our PDF-XChange 4 Lite Printer and it worked as the adobe PDF printer did, resulting in selectable text. So the issue is definitely using FreePDF/Ghostscipt. I would suggest contacting them. Our products function as expected. Hi, There may be somethi...

Re: Printing Current View into PDF -> Letters are gone
Hi, Thanks for your quick help. Yes it works with your printer. I must admit that I have the pro package but usually am not using it to produce PDFSs. I prefer FreePDF as I always have access right problems with your software writing to My Files folders (Win 7 user without admin rights). I have no p...

Hi Stefan,
Please see attached example. I did it on your last newsletter. My issue is not just related to newspapers.
Best regards,
Matthias

Re: New GUI - I do NOT like it!
The only thing I really don't like is the toolbar which I would have shadowed the other way round - a light area in the middle and darker towards the edge. What you chose is really more difficult to see and on certain monitors looks kind of smudgy.

Printing Current View into PDF -> Letters are gone
Congratulations for the new viewer. I like the few new things I saw so far. What I am still missing after almost 3 happy years with your viewer is printing text into a PDF - and this is the only thing that I still need Adobe for. Let me explain: Quite frequently I am framing the program window aroun...

Simply great! This is what I really like about your company - that you do take support seriously and listen to your customers. I think that helps to make the products continously more userfriendly. Whenever I discover a bug, I know it's worth coming to this forum and posting it or looking for the so...

Re: Window -->tile does not work
I frequently like to tile windows (very nice on my new 22" screen) and I also very much like the navigation tabs. Meanwhile I find it slightly annoying that I always have to manually switch on and off the tabs. It makes sense that if you're using tabs, you don't need to cascade or tile the wind...

Is there a chance that build 42.1 with this fix could be published soon? Currently I work with two versions in parallel. Thanks.

Add Link crashes viewer 042
With the latest build 042 I can not add links anymore. If I select text, right mouse click, Add Link, the viewer crashes - PDF-XChange Viewer has encountered a problem ... This still works fine with 041.5 (Geman WinXP Pro). The viewer is getting better and better! I much prefer it to the full Adobe ...

Re: Menu Bar and all Toolbars disappeared after crash
Obviously this must be a bug. I have two licences and today I had the same problem on my other PC - but without preceding crash. I just opened a PDF and all toolbars and the menu was gone. At least I knew that with Ctrl+F I could reactivate the first toolbar and the rest with right click. Both syste...

Menu Bar and all Toolbars disappeared after crash
I am using the latest version of the XChange, build 40.7. Yesterday I had a chrash after resorting pages and before saving the file. After restarting the viewer the menu bar and all toolbars had disappeared. I uninstalled with Revo Uninstaller - hoping everything, even buggy prefs, would go away - a...

Re: Feature Request: Stamp multiple pages in one step
That's a valid point. Haven't thought of it as it did not happen in my cases yet. If the position of a stamp can be defined as X cm/inch from left margin and from top margin then I would place the pasted object on that point even when changing from portrait to landscape. The repositioning for these ...

Feature Request: Stamp multiple pages in one step
I would like to be able to select several pages in the Pages Thumbnail Pane and apply a stamp to all selected pages with one action. The stamp should appear in the same size and position on all pages marked in the pane. Alternatively one could copy-paste stamps and also copy their properties if the ...

Great, thanks for fixing the bug.
Thank you also for the extract from the help PDF. I must admit, I obviously did not check the latest help file. I had done searches in this forum however and in a previous PDF. Thanks again!

Re: Crop Pages - Preview is mixed up
Will fix this behaviour. The crop frames in the preview still don't work correctly in the latest release 2.0039.2 for rotated pdf pages. It works fine for original pdfs (portrait). My first post was referring to 2.0037 and I didn't want to be impatient in 0038. I would really appreciate however, if...

Empty stamp collections can not be deleted
Just a minor bug: A 'new collection' in the stamps palette can not be deleted when empty.
Workaround: The button 'delete selected collection' only works when first one stamp is created in the collection.

Re: Crop Pages - Preview is mixed up
You are absolutely right. That's the key point: The frames in the preview window always behave as if the page was not rotated. E.g.: If the page is rotated 180° the frame behavior is turned upside down. I had tested the bug at two other PDFs before posting it here. They all must have been rotated PD...

Crop Pages - Preview is mixed up
The mouse dialogue in the preview of Crop Pages is mixed up. Changing the crop size by moving the borders always moves the wrong side which is anti-clockwise. Also moving the crop area itself works wrong. Funny challenge to define the crop area with this wrong mouse behaviour but I hope this is corr...

Sure, it's great that it works again, but actually I am little bit disappointed that the viewer is one more of those many programs that have an uninstall routine that doesn't do the job. What is the uninstall worth if not all registry entrys are removed? To manually have to remove a leftover reg ent...

Hello Ivan, could you at least tell me which registry entry I should remove for a re-installation to be successful? Or give an other hint?
Were the bug reports I emailed helpful?

Is there any hope my issue could be resolved? I have not done it myself yet, as I would have been willing to volunteer - to a certain extent - if you want to try an improved setup or uninstall routine. I had tried the latest beta though without any success (uninstall first). So I removed it again be...

No printer available in print menu - printer name fiel blank
I can not print PDF files with the viewer 2.036 any more as no printer is offered for selection in the print menu. The name field in the printer dialogue is blank dark blue, printer status is idle and I can only see the yellow error triangle with exclamation mark in the preview window. I have no ide...
