Color printing has stopped working again so I was wrong when I thought replacing the .dat files had fixed it. I obviously did something that temporarily fixed it; now I just need to figure out what that was. I'll print color docs with Viewer for now.

That didn't take long. The lack of color printing is the result of using the settings.dat file from 8.0.336.0. It didn't take long for me to determine that viewing pdf's in a browser isn't practical for my needs. Looks like a cron job is needed that deletes .pdf files from %TEMP%. It has been years since I have used the 'view pdf in browser' method but it's probably time to revisit it and look at the functionality today. Firefox is my default with Edge as my fallback.

Hi All,
Is there a way for .pdf files accessed with a browser to be auto-deleted from %temp% once closed? I routinely view sensitive reports generated as pdf's on 401k and payroll sites and am disturbed by these documents remaining in the system temporary directory after I'm done with them.

I just found the Properties Pane which I believe will have better functionality for me than the Properties toolbar. This sort of flexibility and customization is rare and greatly appreciated.

The classic bar is worse that the ribbon bar to me. I'm grateful to be able to hide both and have more screen real estate with just the tools I use regularly in the quick access area.

I'm just chiming in here in support of Viewer. I concur with Mike. Viewer is a much better fit for my needs and sensibilities.

I have enabled snapping and turned the grid display on but now whenever I open a document the typewriter tool is the default tool. If I want the hand tool back as the default should I disable snapping, grid display, or both?

I have tested with the third party extensions being allowed but no change. PDF links still only give me the option to Save or SaveAs.
Should I see an add-on for Editor in IE? Wondering if third party extensions being disabled would have prevented one from installing.

Thanks for your effort on this Willy. It's a shame Editor 6.0.317.1 was released without having this fixed. Worse though is that your tests indicate that installation of Adobe Reader is required in order to get Editor to behave.

Could you explain what behavior I would expect to see if it tried to run? I am very concerned about this because I normally open pdf attachments. It was just a fluke that I had attachment preview enabled in my email client so noticed the powershell related content before I opened the file.

I'm embarrassed. I just tested and it worked even though I attempted doing the same thing multiple times this morning as well as over the past several weeks. I have no doubt that it sometimes fails so will try to identify specific conditions when I encounter the failure again.
