After testing with your settings; The window appeared for about 1 second and then disappeared again....
Will test a little bit further to fully verify if this fixed the issue.

It has nothing to do with the log-in. I just verified this.

Disconnect from docking station
Closing lid of laptop
Wait 5 seconds
re-connecting to docking station
Opening the lid of laptop
>>> Printing Progress window appears on Desktop

Also, after further investigation; The window appears on my screen after I re-connect the laptop to the docking station.

Unfortunately this did not fix the issue. It still persists.

This is the task that needs to be killed:

Every time after I log on (after the computer locked itself) the Printing Progress window shows up. It cannot be closed unless I end the task or reboot the system.

SOLVED

We have just upgraded to the newest version of PDF X-Change and PDF-Tools. In the preveous version I was able to merge pdf files but keep them grouped by filename as I moved them to the correct position. In the new version this feature is not available anymore. Now everything is squished in one file...
