When PDF-printing DOCX files with parenthesis in the filename, underscore is substituted
When printing DOCX files to PDF, if the DOCX filename has with parenthesis "( )" characters in the filename, the PDF XChange print driver is converting those character to an underscore. The parenthesis characters are legal on PCs, and should not be changed. The DOCX files (and other files ...

Re: Some hyperlinks are not getting linked
Hi Daniel, Thanks for your reply. I wish to point out that I also reported another linking problem with this program in another thread. In Word documents having both footnotes and endnotes, the program is not processing hyperlinks in the endnotes. I sent a sample, and that problem was also verified....

Re: Some hyperlinks are not getting linked
Thanks for that information. I hope the this bug fix, and another one I identified a few days ago (and which Tracker has also verified) can be fixed soon in a "minor 'point' build". The other one is that some end-note URLs are not being linked (see forum at https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/vi...

Some hyperlinks are not getting linked
I am using the current version (7.0.328.2 ). In Word-2007 DOCX documents that I am printing to PDF, most hyperlinks are being converted to links, but some are not. Also, for links that span more than one line of text, the hyperlinked text on the first line is not being included as part of the link (...

That worked! Thanks.
The registry item was the "12" version of Word ("15" wasn't there), so I proceeded on that one.
Here is the saved registry key.

The problem is that it isn't asking me (that's what I want it to do). It automatically makes the new pdf with a number appended to the filename.

OK, I finally found out where the setting is. But the problem still exists. (I had thought Lev had the "General" item selected because it had dotted lines bracketing it, above and below. I just noticed there was a highlight further down for Save.) So I went to Saved, via Devices & Prin...

That's a different program (not sure which one of Tracker's it is). In the PDF XChange Standard printer driver for making a PDF from within a Word doc, that choice doesn't exist - as shown in this screenshot.

Handling of duplicate PDF filenames SOLVED
When I try to save a PDF to a filename that already exists, the printer driver is appending "-00n" to the end of the filename (where n is a number). This is in version 7.0 build 328. In earlier versions there was a setting I can no longer find, for choosing the behavior of either prompting...

Problem with hyperlinks in endnotes
The current and recent versions of the PDF-Xchange Standard printer driver (v-7.0, builds 328.1 and 328.2) are failing to create hyperlinks for URLs embedded in endnote text. However, in body text and in footnotes that have such embedded URLs, the URLs are correctly converted to hyperlinks. I am usi...

Re: The Word add-in crashes (rarely), and Word disables it
I was able to remove Word's "hard-disable" of the add-in by deleting the subkey at this Registry location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Resiliency\DisabledItems (By accident I had Word running at the time, but am not sure if that is necessary.) The article is here:...

Re: The Word add-in crashes (rarely), and Word disables it
I am unable to get the add-in functioning again. I uninstalled PDF Xchange and reinstalled it. Then I ran Word with admin privilleges, turned the add-in on again in Word (it was in the disabled row), and rebooted. Still no add-in. Or is it PDF Xchange Viewer that have to uninstall and reinstall. I'm...

I just had the same kind of crash using the current version. I am using the latest version of the add-in for MS Office (and am using it in Word). In the Advanced tab for its Edit Settings, there is check-box for "Prompt for PDF filename". However, when I create a PDF the add-in disregards this setting and creates the PDF using filename of Word docum...

Is there an explanation somewhere for which options do what, in "Font Embedding Options" in the "Edit Settings" of PDF-Xchange Standard Office Plug-in? The hint for the plug-ins Edit Settings box says use F1 for help, but F1 goes to a Microsoft dialogue that says Office 2007 is n...

Thanks for your reply. By Words "poor behavior" I mean that is disables the add-in and makes it at best difficult to re-enable it (maybe impossilbe?) instead of notifying the user of the problem. I don't know what Tracker version I was using, because I just ran an update (i.e.reinstall) to...

Re: Lost plug-in on Office 2007 SOLVED
I found the solution to this problem. The way to re-enable the add-in in Word 2007 (and probably other Office programs and versions) is tricky. Go to: Options > Addins. You should see the add-in in the Disabled section at the bottom of the list (scroll down). The "trick" is to change the s...
