Re: Help!!! Toolbars and Ribbon tabs have all disappeared!
That is true... but a hint in the UI would have saved me some aggravation.

Thanks for that.
Just wondering, what happened to ticket "#4393 - PDF document with impossible see or edit OpenAction script in the Editor UI"?

Re: Document "open action" not available for editing
1) Maybe it is via a "Page Open" action that the Print dialog box is showing up. To verify this: - Activate the Thumbnails pane and also activate the Properties pane. - Then click on the first page and look in its properties for the Page Open action. 2) Via File > Save as Optimized ..., t...

Document "open action" not available for editing
Why is there no way to edit the "Document Open" action? I received a PDF that automatically opens the print dialog when opened. I cannot find any way to edit or remove the action. In Acrobat - for some reason - it is also not available under "Document Actions" - which only the in...

Color management Issue
Hi,
I am having an issue with color being displayed wrongly.
I have attached a minimal sample PDF, my monitor color profile. My color Management Settings, and a side by side comparison of PDF Xchange & Adobe.

Re: Why doesn't hand tool select?
Hi, Thanks for your reply! I took a look at the behaviour of both Foxit and Adobe reader DC and it appears to me that both use the Hand Tool the way we do, though there is an Option to "Make [the] Hand Tool Select Text" that requires a modifier key (Shift) in Foxit, I didn't check Adobe. I...

Why doesn't hand tool select?
Why is there no option for using hand tool to select?
It's an option in Adobe Reader. It's an option in Foxit Reader. When will it arrive to PDF Xchange? I would find it very useful. It's a pain to keep changing tools.

Re: Printing settings reset with every update
Hi, Just updated again to 328 and subsequently to 328.1, (love it BTW that Tracker are maintaining and updating their products so well), however I am finding it extremely annoying that my printing preferences don't survive the update intact  I'm kind of surprised that no other users have been ...

Re: Printing settings reset with every update
HI, Thanks for your reply. I personally think that this behaviour is confusing and not intuitive. Because we now have 2 types of changes, 1) you can change any setting in any profile including the default profile and click ok or apply, the change will be saved and survive reboots, so long as you don...

Re: Printing settings reset with every update
Hi,
My above post was refering to changes made in Printing Preferences in the control panel. Even those changes to not get saved in the default profile!
Off course I agree that it should be possible to make one off changes for a specific print job without saving the change in the profile.

Re: build 327.0 text rendering
Not only does it bring Editor's rendering a bit closer to Acrobat's rendering (reference) I don't think the PDF spec enforces any specific rendering implementation and whether hinting should be used or not, therefore I don't think that being closer to Acrobat's rendering is an objective gain. Perso...

Re: build 327.0 text rendering
I think I found now the culprit It seems that "Preference->Page Display->Rendering...->Text Hinting" when set to "Auto" now defaults to hinting "enabled" while I am pretty sure that in the past I didn't have hinting enabled. I don't recall changing the settings manually.

Printing settings reset with every update
Hi, I have an issue which is really 2 issues compounding each other. 1) The default printing settings in PDF Printer is NOT to embed all fonts. This is a very bad policy since the whole idea of PDF is to be portable! (I don't know which fonts are embedded by default and which not, but I think EVERY ...

Copying RTL text with diacritics
Hi, Another bug related to RTL text. It is my understanding that some software will render RTL text on the page in a LTR order. This results in the text being placed on the PDF page in reversed logical order. This can cause trouble when copying or extracting text from the PDF since the logical order...

Hi, The text cursor in right-to-left text is acting a bit funny. Recompress image may result in a larger file
Hi all, I am loving the new features of v7. I want to make a small point concerning the new "Recompress image..." option. One of the features of PDF is that it allows an image to appear multiple times in the document but only be stored once (AKA Xobject). When using the "Recompress im...

Re: Feature request: Option to open file read-only, automatically reload if changed
I would imagine that programs (e.g. like the above) which allow the modification of currently "open" files actually do not hold a file open after loading it for viewing and editing. As far as I know that's not actually the case. In the case of SumatraPDF the file is always open read-only ...

Re: Feature request: Option to open file read-only, automatically reload if changed
Hi Patrick, Thanks for the reply. If what you describe were true it wouldn't actually be that useful. It is actually far less complicated than that because windows allows placing a monitor on a directory to be notified about any changes in it. Another option would be to setup the editor to check the...

Feature request: Option to open file read-only, automatically reload if changed
Hi, I would like to have the ability to open files read-only and then have them reload automatically if they change. The use case for this is when editing a file in a third party app and printing it to PDF for preview. I often make minor changes and then reprint it under the same file name to view. ...
