To my surprise, rebooting has restored printing functionality.
Although in Event Viewer I did get a heap of errors like
"A timeout was reached (2000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Windows Search service to connect."

FWIW, I notice that Editor does report that subsets of the relevant Zilla Slab fonts have indeed been embedded in the last PDF file that you created, albeit with Type = "TrueType" — in other words, TTF.
