Re: Pdf Xchange Website
I think I have realised why it's working now and wasn't the other day. The website uses Cloudflare or some other CDN. I suspect that the CDN being used the other day uses the older cipher and the CDN that my pc is using today supports the newer ciphers. I recall having a similar issue a few years ba...

Re: Pdf Xchange Website
Thank you for your prompt response. It is not a pressing problem. I just wanted to make you aware of the issue. Oddly enough the website seems to be working perfectly today - even with that cipher disabled. Either somebody has already fixed the problem before I had a chance to report it, or there wa...

Pdf Xchange Website
I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this issue. I have been testing disabling insecure and obsolete cipher suites in Firefox. 99% of the websites work perfectly with ciphersuites that support perfect forward secrecy and strong ciphers. pdf-xchange.com website however seems to require this...

Re: Making Pdf's a safe email attachment to open
I don't use group policies to push user and computer settings. The reason being that I work with multiple clients. So I have logon and startup scripts that I created nearly 20 years ago using a programming language called kixtart, which was designed explicitly for logon and startup scripting use. As...

Re: Making Pdf's a safe email attachment to open
Hi Paul, Had not realised that the embed issue was a bug as well. I just assumed that I had not understood something. Pleased to hear that you will be able to fix both bugs. What is the normal ETA on fixing bugs? My point that I was making about the prefs menu options versus registry options is as f...

Re: Making Pdf's a safe email attachment to open
I have updated my profile, so hopefully I will get an email notification when this topic is updated. I had assumed this was the default. I have done more work on this issue today as I need to get this implemented. I have discovered that the problem was not the settings. If you apply those settings t...

Hi Chris, Thank you for responding. For some reason, I did not get any email notification that there was a reply. Sorry for the late response. What I was actually looking for and found was something like this - https://admx.help/?Category=PDF-XChange%20Editor&Policy=TrackerSoftware.PDFXEditor.Po...

Making Pdf's a safe email attachment to open
Whilst reviewing our Cyber Security measures, I wanted to see if I can address the problem of having to allow pdf as a whitelisted attachment - because everyone uses it - with the downside that pdf's have now become the macro equivalent of word - with all the associated malware concerns. I have alre...

Re: Blocking Viruses in pdf email attachments
Hi Daniel, Thank you very much for your detailed response. If the pdf already by default asks people if they want to run a javascript, then I think this solves my concern and means that Pdf Editor is protecting us from malware and viruses. Thank you. As such, I won't disable javascript. Sorry you mi...

Blocking Viruses in pdf email attachments
I am looking at ways to prevent viruses and malware infecting our networks without hampering user functionality. I understand that turning off Javacript is the main thing to block viruses from running in pdfs. Questions: 1. Do I need to turn off both "Enable Javascript actions" and "E...

Re: Fit to printer Margins default
Maybe I am misunderstanding you, but I am a bit confused.
Changing the setting from none to fit printer margins does not change the printer, page size. See the pic that I uploaded for the setting that I am talking about. I tried changing this now. It does not change the printer or page size.

Re: Fit to printer Margins default
Thank you. I think the more relevant question is why the default is set to none when this causes problems with some printers. Setting as fit to printer margins has caused no issues that I am aware of. So while you can request changing the default, it might be more helpful to ask what advantage there...

Re: Fit to printer Margins default
Hi Daniel, Just to clarify a couple of points. The setting does retain the last option used. We have never had an issue with losing the setting. The issue is not as a result of a recent update. The problem I am referring to is that the default setting when installing the program is for none to be th...

Re: Causes of - errors detected in the XREF table
Hi Daniel, Thank you for explaining why the issue occurs with pdf xchange but not other programs. The developer of my accounting program would be happy to improve his product to address any issues caused by creating pdf's from within the program. You are correct. The accounting program is probably n...

Fit to printer Margins default
I have always setup my clients to use pdf Xchange Editor for their pdf viewer. Over the years I have found we had issues printing certain pdf documents and we have always found its because we had to change Type from None to Fit to printer Margins. Would it be possible to set Fit to Printer Margins a...

Causes of - errors detected in the XREF table
I use an accounting program that allows me to save invoices as a pdf. It saves perfectly, but I always get an error message in pdf editor, saying - errors detected in the XREF table. When I re-save the pdf and re-open the message is gone. Can you advise what causes it as I do not get this error mess...

Issue with white lines in PDF Editor and PDF Viewer
I have created a word document (2010) and saved it as a pdf. The section in dark green background shows white lines in PDF Editor and PDF Viewer, but does not show this problem in Acrobat Reader or any other PDF Viewer program that I have tried. Its not supposed to show any white lines on the green ...

Thank you. I will have a look at the option of creating a basic pdf template from word with the header, footer and logo and add the structure for the main content. Then all I will have to do is edit the content for the questions and replace it with the words that I want and create fillable forms and...

Which version of PDF Program has the functionality I need.
I need to have the following functionality. When Printing to PDF, to be able to select Office, Internet and Print Ready. Its not intuitive to have to choose between 300dpi, 600 dpi etc. I don't know what dpi is for Office etc. One thing that I have noticed is that Nitro PDF Printer ver 9 on office s...

Re: PDF Xchange Editor V6 317.1
I am posting the solution here just in case anyone else has the problem. Apparently Samsung Monitors come with a profile called Samsung Natural Color Pro 1.0 ICM that windows uses by default. You need to go to Monitor Properties and select colour management and then add the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile...

Re: PDF Xchange Editor V6 317.1
I have found what works and what does not work. On the document that I posted, if I change the colour profile - everything is as it should be. However, this messes up the pdf document that my graphic designer sent me. If I use IEC61966-2.1 then the silver grey comes out looking yellow, but the light...

This has fixed the issue with the document that I have sent you. However, the other pdf document that I received from my graphic design artist people looks even worse when I change it to the IEC61966-2.1. Everything seems to have a yellow hue to it. Also the fact that it does not default to the IEC ...

PDF Xchange Editor V6 317.1
