PDF-XChange Editor Plus 8.0 build 331.0
When I open a PDF, it defaults to the Hand Tool. Is there a way to set 'Select Text' as default instead?

Command line OCR tool. Look in subfolders
Sirs, Using pdf-tools v 7.0 (build 325.1) I cloned the built-in "OCR Pages" tool to a custom one named "OCR (PDF) Auto Incl sub-folders". Under "Choose input files", I set "Select folder". But, since I'd like to pass the folder name via the command line, I did...

Re: Remove passwords from pdfs?
Thanks, Daniel! Your help's much appreciated. Clarification, please... If a pdf has the 2 passwords: 1 to open and 1 to restrict editing, do I put 2 passwords in the list, one for each? If so, how does the tools know which to use? UPDATE: In the Predefined Passwords, Storage, I made 2 entries - one ...

Remove passwords from pdfs?
Sirs, I just read a similar post here: https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=28506 Is is possible to remove passwords from protected pdfs, assuming all files are using the same password? If so, I'd guess the Predefined Passwords Storage plays a role with this feature? If so, how do ...

Re: Tool to remove PDF/A?
No worries, Daniel. I think we can live with just the Secure PDF feature.

Re: Tool to remove PDF/A?
As I mentioned, I'd like to add passwords to existing PDF/A files so I can secure them. But, I can't secure the PDF/A files afterwards. i.e. in the end I'd like to have Secure PDF/A files Here's what I did... 1. Run "Discard Special PDF-Standard" to remove the PDF/A. 2. Run "Secure PD...

Install / upgrade over existing install
Hi,
I have PDF-XChange PRO license. I ran PDF-XChange Editor. Then downloaded the latest via Check for Updates. When I run the exe, I pick Pro Version. But I have to enter the user name and key. Doesn't it know to install over the existing install and use that key?
Thanks,
Chris
