Re: Feature req: Hand + Select tool SOLVED

My favorite handling is the one used by Photoshop and other graphics/ image/ DTP tools: You hold down the space bar to drag/pan the canvas with the mouse. Releasing the space bar toggles back to whatever tool you had been using before that.

Thanks Patrick

for those screenshots. Relieved to see that this is handled like everywhere else. So I won't have to worry.

Re: Devious Editor Updates? SOLVED

I was hoping for this to be some kind of bug or misunderstanding. But now as it turns out to be intended behavior, I find this policy rather unsettling. If I purchase software, I do not expect that after a certain "maintenance" program expires, that the documents I produce will now have wa...

Re: Adding Page Number to the PDF file

What's wrong my xChange PDF Editor? Anyone face the similar case before? Unfortunately yes, and the way I solved it was like this: In the dialog "Setup Pages Range" you don't just select "Odd pages only" from the dropdown at the very bottom, but in the field directly above it yo...

Re: adding command to user defined toolbar crashes program

Just for the record - I had the same problem:
https://forum.pdf-xchange.com/ ... sh+#p92001

The only way to work around it, was to modify an existing built-in toolbar instead of creating a new user toolbar.

Re: RT # 2942 Printing Problem

Hi Will and Stefan Yes, I take offense to inappropriate remarks and find them disturbing. Glad to hear that forum rules actually do get enforced in here. I understand you cannot read along 24/7. Fostering an atmosphere where users are encouraged to voice problems and suggestions - great software thr...

Re: RT # 2942 Printing Problem

I am disappointed in the admins' handling of affairs. People like bqxmprij who have nothing to contribute other than insulting and ridiculing other users and their very legitimate inquiries - in a decent forum such postings are removed immediately and the poster reprimanded.

Re: Wish: Stamp tool with characters

Sounds like a character list you may want to use in other programs as well. If so, have you considered freeware phrase expanders like these: http://helpingthings.com/index.php/insert-unicode-characters http://www.phraseexpress.com/index.html Unless you mean actual stamp overlays instead of inline te...

Re: Editor toolbars too big for laptop screen

Hi Radi, thanks for the info. No problem, this is just a small niggle, far from being a show-stopper or anything like that. It's just that I was not sure whether I might be missing out on something, so I first contacted support by mail, learned about the automated size/ caption - but then later I ca...

good to know before spending more time trying to figure it out.

Please do so, consider my question as a suggestion then. I think it were useful to stack content in layers.

Working with layers SOLVED

I don't understand how layers are supposed to work. They don't seem be doing anything.
What I had in mind was grouping comments and objects on stacked layers, to hide them selectively. Is there a way to achieve this?

Re: Editor toolbars too big for laptop screen

Thanks Patrick, maybe I should have opened a new thread because it's not the thinner toolbar I am after. I actually like the bigger toolbar, especially the combination of FB and HB with and w/o captions. This provides a quick visual orientation not possible in the viewer. What I struggle with is to ...

Re: Editor toolbars too big for laptop screen

Hi Will, no zoom customization, it's set to 100% Standard, my screen settings are: Screen.Width = 1600 Screen.Height = 900 Screen DPI: 96 (100%) Screen Color Depth: 32 To keep it simple, forget about the new toolbar issue for now. Not needed, I am fine with re-organizing the existing ones. My concer...

Re: Hiding built-in stamps

Thanks Willy, not a bad solution, really. It had not occured to me that the Editor might remember the (un)folded state of each of those roll-downs beause the viewer always drills down everything. But as it turns out, the editor does indeed keep the last used setting between sessions. So yes, I can l...

Re: Editor toolbars too big for laptop screen

Thank you Will, all my issues refer to PDF-XChange Editor 5.5 (Build 312.1) The About box does not say whether it's 32 or 64. I guess it's probably 64 because the exe resides in Program Files and not Program Files (x86) and because I am on Win7 64 and I simply had clicked the download link that came...

Hiding built-in stamps

How do you hide the built-in stamps from the toolbar dropdown?
I know how to do it in portable viewer 2.5 - there it's a simple checkbox that can be turned On or Off. But I cannot find a way to do it in the Editor?

Re: Editor toolbars too big for laptop screen

Very interesting thread. Great tip to put properties on the same line with the menu. Hiding the menu makes this even more effective. I also second the wish for an option to hide captions. Either when shrinking the toolbar to less vertical space, or ideally, on a one-by-one basis, similar to the view...

Re: Tracker is sadly going backwards

You also have removed the paid portable versions of the products with the new license scheme. That was a really great option. Again we have not removed the portable version from the Viewer and just as soon as we are able to resolve some technical issues with offering a portable version of the Edito...
